Ursula King: Biography

Ursula King is Professor Emerita of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Bristol, and a Vice-President of the World Congress of Faiths. She has published numerous books and articles on Teilhard de Chardin, Indian religions, interfaith dialogue and religious pluralism, and on women in world religions. One of her more recent works was for the revised edition of the “Encyclopedia of Religion” (Chicago: Macmillan, 2005), where she acted as consultant for the content on gender and religion, encompassing twenty different religious traditions in all. Also within this publication she scripted the entry on Teilhard de Chardin. She recently completed a book on spirituality in a global context entitled “The Search for Spirituality. Our Global Quest for a Spiritual Life” (New York: Bluebridge Books, Oct. 2008), which will be published by Canterbury Press in the UK in March 2009.
